We refine Finnish birch in Rautalampi. Our customers comprise of industrial carpentry and furniture companies both home and abroad that value high quality birch. The cornerstones of our business are quality, reliability and confidential relations with customers and wood sellers.
Company
We began sawing birch in Rautalampi in 1982. Since 1991 we have specialized in the refinement of heavy branchless birch timber. Annually we saw about 5000 m³ of special birch mainly according to customer demands. The same property also holds our sister company Rautalammin Viilutuote Oy, which produces sliced birch veneer.
Products
We produce non-edged, edged, fresh or dried birch timber from branchless logs. We also deliver specially tailored sizes according to customer demands.

Special thickness at the moment: 16, 20, 29, 40, 45, 52, 60mm
Length: 1.6 - 2.4m about 10%, 2.6m about 80%, 3.0 - 3.4m about 10%

Raw material
As raw material we only use Finnish birch wood purchased by our sister company Rautalammin Viilutuote Oy from PEFC-certified forests in Central (Keski-Suomi) and Eastern (Savo) Finland. This Finnish lake district area is currently the best birch area in the world. The top diameter of the special birch used in our timber is a minimum of 23 cm and the cross-cutting lengths are 2,6, 3,0 and 3,4 m. The logs are branchless on the surface and almost straight.
